2011 Leadership

Executive Committee:

Chair: Miguel Hampton MSM, President, F5 Enterprises

Miguel is a gifted yet naturally introverted sales person driven by the success of others. Miguel spent his early career in multi-level fashion retail management in the Midwest, Utah and the North East. After aggressively climbing the corporate retail ladder; Miguel chose to make a career change from retail into marketing. Miguel spent several years as a Senior Sales Representative and later the VP of Sales, he returned to retail for a short stent prior to deciding to starting his own business. Miguel realized that the best way to manage chaos is to simply stand freely in the middle of it and thus, he decided to create a marketing, media and promotions company known as F5 Enterprises.

Miguel has his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Wilberforce University and his Master in the Science of Management from Indiana Wesleyan.

Miguel is also the father of the company’s mascot Mireya (his daughter) and " The Husband" to Teah Williams-Hampton.

Vice Chair: Darrell Fuller, President, iServe Advisers

Darrell Fuller is the founder and CEO of iServe Advisors LLC. He has over sixteen years experience in the employee benefits industry.

Prior to founding iServe, Darrell was a Vice-President at Neace Lukens. Darrell has been recognized as a Leaders Club broker with Humana, and enjoys the distinction of Platinum broker with both United Healthcare and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue shield of Kentucky. In each case the distinction is the highest level attainable for a broker in any of the markets served by that carrier.

He is a graduate of Tennessee State University. Darrell serves on many boards including 100 Black Men of Louisville and Peace Education Program.

Secretary / Treasure: Verna Goatley, Manager, Louisville Metro Economic Development Metro Louisville

Verná C. Goatley is a Manager with Louisville Metro Government, Economic Development Department. In that role she works to improve Louisville business climate by working with others to create jobs, improve infrastructure, develop new amenities and assist with business start-up and development projects.

For the past 16 years Verná has worked in the field of economic development and has been very involved with program facilitation with several area service providers. She has also been instrumental in assisting several area small businesses during their development and expansion stage. In addition to economic development, Verná has several years experience with the banking industry with retail services, consumer credit, training and development, compliance and audit.

Ms. Goatley is a graduate of Jefferson Community College with an Associate in Arts degree and also earned an Associate in Applied Science-Data Processing Technology. She continued her education and at Bellarmine College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and also a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Webster University.

Professional affiliations and advisory boards for Ms. Goatley include Focus Louisville Alumni Association, and Regional Leadership Coalition Alumni. She is a past member of the Board of Directors for Tri-State Minority Supplier Development Council, currently serves on the Board of Directors African American Business Alliance, appointed member of the Governor’s Minority Employment, Business Affairs and Economic Development Council, SCORE (Counselors to Small Business) Advisory Board, Jewish Family & Career Services Microenterprise Advisory Board, and Jefferson Community and Technical College-Technical Campus Advisory Committee.

Immediate Past Chair: Glenda Berry, President, G. Berry Associates {link:}

Glenda, has more than 30 years of experience as an advocate for and manager of award-winning programs and resources targeted to women and minority business owners. From 1975 to 2001, she worked for the Transit Authority of River City (TARC), the public transportation provider for greater Louisville. During that time, Ms. Berry served as Special Assistant to the Executive Director, Affirmative Action Officer (EEO), DBE Liaison Officer and Internal Ombudsman, and also functioned as a registered lobbyist. Her areas of expertise include community outreach, construction project management, civil rights/affirmative action program development, procurement, grant writing and administration, and internal administration.

Ms. Berry attended Eastern Kentucky State University and has completed coursework in management and corporate/community relations at the University of Kentucky and at Boston College, respectively. She has served on and/or chaired numerous boards and alliances in Louisville and throughout the Commonwealth, including the African-American Business Alliance; Louisville/Jefferson Co. Human Relations Commission; Greater Louisville, Inc., the metro chamber of commerce; Big Brothers Big Sisters; Clothe-A-Child; Kentucky Chapter of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials; Kentucky Minority Supplier Development Council; and the Greater Louisville/Regional Economic Development Strategy and Transportation Committee. She was also the recipient of the Community Angel Award presented by Today’s Women magazine, in recognition of her achievements as an excellent role model for young women.
